Not true...both are actually ready to breed at their present size given conditions are right (setup and they getting along play major factors). Both are ZZs and males are commonly fertile young whereas kamfas may need time to mature or may not be fertile at all. Only speaking from experience...

Update on the pond...good growth all around but placing glass over glass was not the best idea. As you can see, bubbles are forming under the glass, which can be pressed out but I noticed another issue...algae between the two glass sheets. For now, I’m just going with it...looks interesting.
