    Help with Anubias

Too much lighting for too long of a period. Hydrogen peroxide will kill off algae growth on leaves...either squirt some H2O2 onto effected area with a dropper or remove plant and use a spray bottle. Problem will come back till you find that balance of ferts & lighting issue. Unless your...

    Fry feeding

Egg yolk does a great job in clouding up the water...imagine what that does 5 to 10 times of feeding daily. To answer your question, you can continue till they can consume crushed pellets or flakes. I’d use frozen or freshly hatched baby brine shrimps or micro worms.

Going to start my aqua garden

Something consider when deciding on a planted tank...what type of scape, which will lead to the type of plants...leading to type of lighting. Carpeting plants like dwarf hair grass and dwarf baby tears require more intense lighting so a more shallow would work better...whereas java fern and...

Rescaped aquarium with plants and cichlids

My pleasure. Good idea to use an empty 2 liter soda or water bottle to add more sand. Rinse off sand, fill bottle with sand, top off with water and hold upside down in aquarium to keep dirty particles from coming out as sand falls out.

Last 2 pics are actually of the same pair..siblings. Second pic shows male developing a kok. Parents below...male’s kok gets much bigger than shown:

Rescaped aquarium with plants and cichlids

I don’t see the need for eco complete. Cichlids will be cichlids...sifting through sand/gravel is what they do. With cichlids, I’d stick with anubias, java fern and few others that do not require planting within the substrate. Cloudiness will clear up in time with water changes and filter floss...

    Flowerhorn SRD breeding project

Not true...both are actually ready to breed at their present size given conditions are right (setup and they getting along play major factors). Both are ZZs and males are commonly fertile young whereas kamfas may need time to mature or may not be fertile at all. Only speaking from experience...

    Flowerhorn gender

I’ll say it’s a female cuz I’ve had FHs with vent prolapse and yours look like it’s ready to spawn. Sudden change in temp can induce spawning...which can explain the ich as well. Dark background and substrate is likely why it is dark. Here’s a koky female I once had:

Will submerged plants get enough light if they're growing under floating plants?

Sounds like you’re very new to this and want to venture beyond your 5 gallon tank.

    Adding Water To My Aquarium

Update on the pond...good growth all around but placing glass over glass was not the best idea. As you can see, bubbles are forming under the glass, which can be pressed out but I noticed another issue...algae between the two glass sheets. For now, I’m just going with it...looks interesting.

Will submerged plants get enough light if they're growing under floating plants?

Here are some pics of my anubias nana petite...very slow growers. The rhizome can be cut to form smaller plants but the bigger, the more appealing. No runners with anubias but new buds grow off the rhizome as shown in the bottom left within the root structure. New growth can come right off...

    Plant help

Good info above. Your tank is so lightly planted and too much nutrient. Until you find that balance point, I have a few suggestions to help with the algae: 1. Black out the tank for 2 to 3 days 2. 5% (1 part chlorine to 20 parts water) chlorine solution dip...where you have to remove the plant...
