Here another favorite, maybe my favorite thorichthys panchovillai. Formally “mixteco” finally officially their own species. Males seem to max out around 5”. Only have had blue and gold morfs. Green is extremely rare not available in the hobby often. This is a “blue” Rio Almoloya.

Good idea to move the JDs. If they pair up I’d do it sooner than later. Breeding pair aggression is way worse.

They aren’t as aggressive as other vieja. Mine was very peaceful. Spawning might be aggressive. But they are hard to sex and best to start out w/ a group to get a pair.

IME, m. Ramirezi is pretty hardy. My son’s seem to tolerate a higher ph. Even spawn regularly. Really nice looking little fish. You can’t go wrong w/ them or the Bolivian rams.

He’s saying a 12” dovii is already too big for the grow out tank. A grow out tank needs to be bigger than that. Why not wait until you have the bigger tank? Or get a smaller fish. Parachromis are pretty fast growers.

What about the UK though? I know this is is true about the US. Monopolies do exist.

Thanks! Yeah that’s what I mean. When adults they have more grey and red. When spawning the red gets brighter.

Yup, they get very red. My pair spawned consistently all spring and summer. The aggression wasn’t bad either.
