I use effimech in the bottom, stock foam in 2nd tray followed by bio, top tray another fine foam pad to filter bypass with bio on top and polishing pad over that. I run the foam in the top two trays to keep the bio media cleaner extending the service intervals.

Big tanks are prone to shrinkage over time. The more you look at them the smaller they seem.

I've had good experience with braids for saltwater. I like Izorline and Jerry Brown on my 30-60lb rigs using mono or flouro topshots. I use yellow Samurai 55lb with a short 25lb flouro topshot to flyline. Its super smooth and limp and the bait can pull it for days. Even on my Jigging rigs...

Here's a couple of mine with most of the fish hiding lol. First tank is 120g Second is 187g. Dark splotch in bottom right corner of blue back 120g tank is a 6" indo haha. Can't quite get the complete tank shots due to obstructions in the fish room so more like 60-80% tank shots.

Get a stool, plastic snow shovel, and a plastic trash can. I wouldn't go in the tank with gravel 150lbs concentrated onto a small point of a piece of gravel and that glass is done for. Barebottom prolly no problem but not worth the risk.

You could have an acrylic shop make an overflow box that spans the entire length of your tank if you really wanted skimming across the tank. Then you'd only need to drill as many holes needed for your target flow rate. There's a sticky in the diy forum section that tells you what size...

According to the sticky here poly's have been known to go on hunger strikes for no apparent reason. My 13" ornate seems to be on one atm. It used to eat anything and be one of the first to feed now it takes awhile for it to even inspect the food and I haven't seen it it for a couple weeks now.

Im pretty sure my 13" ornate bullies my 12" lap and 12" endlis every now and they show up with bites out of thier tails. Ornate is the biggest in the tank. However it seems to get along with a 9" senegal that used to bully my smaller polys in another tank. Prolly a match in aggression levels...

I was there last August that grouper is massive. Favorite tank in the place prolly spent half an hour just sitting there watching like it was a mini movie theater.
