How much would you guys pay for a 10" Jurenese like this?

Alright cool thanks all. I agree on the tiger sovelnose, though he is the one who put the bite marks on the Jurenese.

I am pretty sure its just a Juruense, but I would still like to know. Also, I would like to know if the amount I paid was, excessive, for this fish.

I am sorry about not getting pictures up. I have no camera, and am having trouble getting a hold of one. I am leaning towards it not being a Tigrinus though, he got some color and the vertical stripes seem much too large and broad.

I have recently acquired a 9" "Lavender Shovelnose." When I got the fish in my tank and his color started to appear I took a closer look at him and he looks to me like a Tigrinus. I am curios about if a shovelnose and a Tigrinus might have been able to breed or if I have an actual Tigrinus...

Try something that is actually alive, and will attempt to swim away. Don't forget that they are predatory and do naturally eat actual things, not just fish food.

Wow, I have caught a lot of those guys in my days and have never seen one that red. Learn something every day I guess. Its weird to me that all my life I have been catching these fish and now I find out that people pay money for a lot of them and breed them for different colors and such.
