How Do You Guys Feel About Animal Experimentation

Others have mentioned several problems with this, including that there's always the possibility that the person is innocent, but no one seems to have brought up the fact that it's not good science. There are hundreds, if not thousands or millions of variables that you can't control if you use...

How Do You Guys Feel About Animal Experimentation

That just means that dogs, cats, lions, monkeys, and elephants aren't human, not that humans aren't animals. You can't describe a living organism, which is also an animal, without describing a human. You can't list out attributes that mammals have, without also describing humans. You can't be a...

Best foods for desert iguana or chuckwalla?

I hope you can see how such a limited diet would be detrimental in the long run, and the fact that lettuce has such low nutrient value compounds the issue even more.

Best foods for desert iguana or chuckwalla?

I'm not sure about chuckwallas, but I'm pretty sure most iguanas are almost exclusively herbivorous. Considering the effects of animal protein on green iguanas (liver and kidney disease), I would be very wary of feeding any animal protein to any iguana. You want dark leafy greens. NO LETTUCE...

    Quick question..

It would be better in the wet dry, I think. If it's in the under gravel portion, what do you do when the carbon adsorbs its limit? I would think it tedious to have to dig it out, replace the carbon, and rebury the filter.

Mom arrested for taking 5 year-old tanning

We can't take people's kids away from them just because we don't agree with their lifestyles. What if next someone comes along and says that fish keepers can't keep their kids because they will neglect their children in lieu of their fish? Or that large tanks are a hazard? Most people forget...

Cycling with media from a currently running tank... Question

The bacteria need a source of ammonia. Preferably just ammonia, IMO, but you could use fish if you don't want to buy a jug of ammonia for cycling. The tank is ready when ammonia and nitrite are zero and nitrate is greater than zero. Basically, you're gonna need a test kit. It's a good...

    How long cycle?

If the stats are ammonia:0, nitrite:0, and nitrate>0, your tank is ready, at that moment and from that moment on until you or something else kills the bacterial colony in the filter.

    How long cycle?

I wasn't assuming, which is why I added the prefix, "Unless I'm misreading...". But if you know how to cycle a tank... shouldn't you know about test kits? Cycle with liquid ammonia and use liquid tests. Ammonia will rise as you add ammonia. I don't know what kind of bioload snails would place on...
