Dragon Puffer care tips and feeding

They are piscivores by nature and no they dont seem to have issues with over grown teeth from my experience with them… It can also be like owning pet rocks at times as they rarely swim around and tend to stay in one spot most of the time… Finally becareful if you have tank mates as they are...

    Fahaka stressed or just pattern?

My fahaka when i had her did the same thing from very pronounced stripes to more washed out colours when being moved to a lighter substrate… then when she was stressed or upset with something badly, she would show really dark stripes across her body…normally was after water changes if water was...

    Amazon Puffers

Just make sure you get a true amazon puffer ( C.Asellus) and not a Ceylon puffer as they have very similar patterns but are brackish and not fresh

    New Cross River Pufferfish

For me personally that sounds way too expensive considering how much i used to be able to get them back in Hong Kong. I’m also almost sure i also saw a FB aquatics page that said they sold Pea puffers here in Australia for a lot less than that but can’t remember the name. If i come across it...

What are these black spots in the belly of my puffer fish?

Yeah was about to say, their slime coat is prone to stuff getting stuck to them, especially when they been laying on substrate...

Why do you think Congo spotted puffers do not eat cherry shrimps ?

i would guess they just haven't worked out they are edible... i've had puffers like that in the past where they didn't realize something was edible till i basically fed it to them with tongs...

Eggs collected from the Congo spotted pufffer

Honestly i have not seen them before, but i wouldn't be surprised they are small considering the size of the puffer, even palembang eggs aren't that big...

    40 Gallon Breeder Red-Tailed Red-Eyed Dwarf Puffer

I agree with the above, with enough hiding spots you might be able to get away with it but the pleco maybe in danger of getting nipped... As long as you have a backup plan you should be okay, as i've noticed in the past, it isn't until these puffers realize something in the tank is an easy...

    Fluffy the fahaka!

^ I agree with @twentyleagues while young best to get them pellet trained and on a variety of foods so they are less picky as they age... Also if they are pellet trained it will become easier to feed when you run out of frozen foods to feed or aren't able to pick up any in a pinch...

Why mussel should not be feed to Congo spotted puffer?

The male puffer is hanging on female puffer’s belly

Normally puffers will care for the eggs but if its their first time some may not get as much attention due to lack of experience, also as mentioned above you'll need to watch that other fish don't pick them off... So its up to you if you remove the eggs and try to take care of them yourself...

Fast moving infection - large fahaka

https://www.aquariumcircle.com/cory-catfish-mouth-rot/ @Brondo Sorry for late reply, the only thing i would add to this conversation is if possible (which i know might be difficult) is to place the puffer into a quarantine tank while treating and maybe give his original tank a really good clean...

    Fhaka Puffer

Sorry for chiming in late however i do agree you should aim at feeding something a bit more nutritional and filling... Also, if you havent dewormed your puffer, it maybe a good idea to do so unless you are sure that your puffer came in 100% healthy which more often than not is not the case...

    Fhaka Puffer

That is rather unusual for a Fahaka to grow to only 2 / 3 inches in 6 months? What size was he when you got him and as mentioned above what are you feeding / water changes like? also any other tankmates in the tank?

Opinions on Congo tetras with fahaka

If they indeed stress out the fahaka, chances are they wont last long as you’d be amazed how fast a fahaka can bolt towards prey when it wants to…
