+1 with sean. Most likely since the pics are of different species, those pics are just taken from other sources online and do not even represent the fish they are selling. These guys are way too common to buy from a sketchy source

boiling is always a good idea to sterilize the wood and it seems to speed up the sinking IME.....and soaking it for several days helps too

yeah he hasnt been using a thermomter guys but with a tank that size and setting it to 33 degrees celcius, it should be on longer than 20 minutes.

how do they make things better than any other shoe? i know what they have that is different, but what makes it better?

could be defective. try setting up the heater in a smaller tank or bucket and see if it heats the water. if no, you may need to replace

nice simplistic setup. i like the black substrate too. makes the colors pop

nice p/u... but that looks like an odd dimensioned tank. as stated , it will be a PITA to clean the bottom or reach it for any maintenance. GL :)
