i agree with sasori. and remember no matter what the fish, it isnt rare for an evil fish to be fine with any other fish and vice versa. keeping them from young would be the ideal way to ensure they get along ok though.

although im not familiar with the pro two most eheims do have a rubber ring that seal them. if you dont have this then a trip to any good fish shop should solve the problem.

no 12 inches is massive for a flowerhorn. especially in a home aquarium. i have a two year old that is only 7 inches at best

im not sure bouyt the paints but you could consider a masonary paint thats water based? check out "sandtex" the paint is water based but once dry its going knowhere. as for the foam you have the flaoting issue.
