I can't imagine any disadvantage to drilling the bottom of the tank. it is slightly better than having a 90 fitting in the side and it is no harder. do you have plans for building your overflow? I can tell you from experience that there are a ton!!! of theories on how to do all of this.
what would you guys say there specific water requirements are? My tap water is definetly on the hard side. If it is at all possible for me to avoid using any more RO it would definitly be alot simpler.
