What type of Betta is my Betta?

He's a double moon betta, or half moon if your prefer. Please remove the females from his tank, because only a PAIR should be together, and then only for breeding purposes (very short-term). Please do your homework first. Bettas live in rice paddies in the wild, which provides a virtually...

    SOME RANDOM PICT'S 1-16-07

Very interesting collection. The clown knife needs a 300-gallon single speciem tank when full grown, as will your soon-to-be-four-feet-long black pacu. The irridescent shark grows to eight feet...

    R.I.P. EBJD!!!

Was the tank new? You should always fishless cycle (using pure ammonia) your tank first.

New 24 foot tank...need stocking advice

I recommend you fishless cycle it... Adding fish before the filters are mature with nitrifying bacteria will cause an ammonia spike. http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles/misc/fishlesscycling.html

whats in the box (is this how you play it?)

    Water changes create fish miracles.

    3g Eclipse...

That is very overcrowded for a 3-gallon. Dwarf puffers would be a bad choice because they will rip each other up and any other fish... They need 5 gallons per fish. I wouldn't add any more fish... Only take more fish away.

My Sharp Little Present from My Husband

Yep, 2-3 feet in under 5 years. Better start saving for glue for when he needs a 300-gallon! LOL! Nice fish! I've always admired them, especially when they reach adult size.

My Arapaima and Super Red Community Tank

You're going to need 4,000 gallons (about 16,000 liters I think) if you don't want to stunt them...

    125 Gallon Tank

Unfortunately, your fish are pretty much all bottom dwellers. The tiger barbs probably aren't a great choice, nor are the shell dwellers (too small). As for the catfish/loaches, which would you rather have? I have a feeling there won't be room for all of them if you know what I mean :(.

    Finished the 255 gal.....

Great plant work! However, did you fishless cycle (with ammonia) before adding the fish? Adding old water and old filter media isn't enough to support all those fish.

    My 90-Gallon

Before it was fishless cycling... But here it is today (well about 3 months ago anyway- the algae was gone a couple days after the photo shoot)! Tiger- All the orange coloring is gone now except two spots on either side right before the tail and a the upper lip. Citrus- A...

    Black Ghost Knife Fish Compatability

Tinfoil barbs need 6+ in a tank 6ft or longer- and 110s have the blueprint of 90s. The oscar won't work, he'll be too agressive. The gouramis shouldn't even be in with predatory fish, bala sharks need 6+ in a tank 6ft or longer, the pleco takes up the bottom- so no eel, and the pictus catfish is...

    2 new babys!!

Clown knives grow to 3 feet and need a tank of 300 or more gallons :).

    My Fish Tank Residents

I've never seen such dark red belly pacus... That could be a sign of bad water quality/overcrowding :(. Either way, red bellies still grow to 3 feet (and can be a foot wide.)

    My Fish Tank Residents

Very nice JD . How big is you tank? Black pacus grow to 4 feet+ (and from the looks of the thickness of that glass, that's a 55-gallon. Your pacus alone will need 500-gallons a piece :(. Red belly piranhas also prefer some space- they like schools of 6+ :). Is that an electric catfish?

    70 gallon monsters?

Maybe, since they grow to around the same size. The clown knife gets way to big- 3+, and is real mean.

    New 135 gallon question

Yep, that should be fine :).

    70 gallon monsters?

Clown loaches need to be kept in groups of atleast 6, and a tank of atleast 100-gallons :). Never buy from chains. Dumb employees, bad fish, poor managment .
