So you want to own an endangered species just because? The reason they might still be catching them are because sadly they are a lot of people thinking like u do... But sure if your LFS has them its probably better if you buy them and sell them to a member with experience of them and really...

What is the generall cause? I often see it happen on smal gars around 10-20cm, my guess is that it has to do with 2 fast growing and maybe to warm water?

I had one that was even worse and I didnt want to do anything cuz he eat and everything... But he recovered and got back to normal with just a slightly coordination problem ;) So hopes up!

Im guessing he is about 2years old! Got him little less than a year ago at 7.8inches.. At the time he hadent eaten in about 2-3weaks and was only given bloodworms.. So he was really thin. But I soon got him going on smashed shrimp mixed with some homemade frozen shrimpmix, I also often smashed...
