Well, nowadays he is having a go at everyone! (Typical JD) The geos are wimps and get picked on by pretty much all tank mates! But, there haven't been any injuries yet so fingers crossed its nothing serious!

Ok, have just tested the nitrates and ammonia. Amm - 0 but nitrates are very high at around 100ppm!! (bright red test result) so this could very well be a clear indication as to why they were being erratic and skittish. Have done a 70% water change and hoping it will help.

I agree that putting fish into an "uncycled" tank is cruel but my filter will already have enough bacteria to support these 2 tiny platies.

My EBJD flirts with my female G. redhead Tapajos when the other female is tied up with the male. Its really funny! They get on pretty well and all the fish in the tank know not to mess with the EBJD including the severums who are top dog. But because of this, there is hardly any fighting.

Whats the pH of your tap water? Have you got coral sand? limestone buffers the pH as well.
