Tried the fluval q2 and was pretty amazed at how quiet it was and powered two sponge filters in a 40b.

1"-~2". Once my guys got more than 2" their orange got brighter and black got darker.

Just the clowns. They were in a 75 and moved to a 300 when my clowns started hitting about 7-8".

Everytime I see that tank makes want to upgrade to a deeper tank. Looking for atleast 30" deep :D. Did you make that feeding ring? Looking for something exactly like that because a lot of the food I feed my guys float into my overflows! Oh and love your clowns they must be about 8"+?

Usually that's the case when their small and when they pack on their size their color gets darker.

That tank had mostly clowns and a bunch of silver dollars. They ended up in a 30L with a bunch of black neon tetras.

I had a few in my old setup with my current clowns and after a month or two took them out due to their aggression. They would literally chase anything their size and constantly do it might I add.

IMO they are are slow growers like clowns but, these guys are way more aggressive. Watch out for disputes and make sure there's enough caves for all of them.

Yup once they hit 5-6" they slowly grow longer but, I think it's because their girth is getting bigger.

How long you had your clowns? Mine are about that size but, took them awhile to get there. I'd say my oldest guys are almost 18years old and are 10-11".
