Eliminating the foam sponge in my ac110?

The foam insert clogs up fairly quickly and the whole basket, sponge and lid lift up on one side, its a pain in the butt. Im thinking of taking out the foam sponge and just filling the entire filter box with bio max or ceramic noodles in a bag. Would it be ok to do this? thanks

    Calling experienced iguana keepers

The bulk of, or around 80% of their diet should be dark leafy greens, You can switch out the romain lettuce for collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, arugula, turnip greens, and kale are all nutritionally excellent for iguanas. You can also bump up the temps a bit, the basking...

    savannah monitor,

Invest in a temp gun as mentioned, it really is a must have if you keep monitor lizards. You can buy them cheap now on the internet. Try and get a basking spot of around 135degs with the gun, I add a block of wood the approx thickess of the lizard, then set temp, this gives you more of an...

    Calling experienced iguana keepers

What about the things that are most important to the iguana.... like its diet, what are you feeding it? What are the air and basking temps like inside the cage? Are you giving the animal any extra calcium along with some type of a uvb source for absortion?
  18. E

    savannah monitor,

Yes.... A basking spot the size of the monitors snout to vent lenth is used by alot of keepers, but I wouldnt think covering the entire animal would be a bad thing, just not to practical when you keep 6 or 8 foot lizards.
