    Monster Loach

I've seen that baby on Facebook too. It's a whopper of a good looking wild caught. Wish the secret would be found how to get our tank bound clowns looking that good and up to that size!

Why does my 10" Clown Loach get blotchy?

That coloration reminds me of what can happen with prolonged exposure to high nitrates. Not to say this is your situation. Try to find out where the tilapia you're feeding them is sourced. If it's farmed Asian, then there is a high likelihood the tilapia is fed pig and bird feces. You could...

Cool looking tank! Nice looking group of clowns you have. I also like the long ventral fins on your angels. :)

    Clown loach help

Post a pic of your tank, that could help us point out any issues. Once clowns get in the 6"+ range they can tend to hide more, but they should still be out and about for a good portion of the day. Things that can help are: groundcover such as medium to large rocks and driftwood placed...

    Imperial loach

Links provided are a good start. All I know is what I've read. Crazy amount of water flow, aeration, and pristine water conditions. Difficult loach to keep alive from what I hear. You might check out a Facebook group called Loach Fanatics and ask people there for info.

How big is your biggest clown?

3"ers are cute raubiy. :) They can grow fairly quickly up to 4" depending on conditions, after that the growth rate slows down IME.

    Clown loach stocking

If you're sticking with clowns, don't worry too much about the different sizes as long as your tank has enough floor space. If you're getting a little one I would just get two. The little guys appreciate having someone else to pal around with that's their size. Don't forget to quarantine!

    Clown loach stocking

Not all loaches play well together. Some species are a lot more aggressive than others.

    Holy Grail

I can't say that I've seen my largest loach swim backwards and up like you're describing. If he can hold position I wouldn't be too concerned. Just continue to keep a close eye on your water params and his appearance/behavior. :) Post a video sometime if you get a chance!

Does my new clown have ich?

Lookin' good! Are they doing the loach dance since he joined? My smaller loaches tend to congregate too.

Does my new clown have ich?

Good thing you were nearby when he made a leap for freedom. He looks like he'll be fine. You could keep the lights off for 24 hours to give him some extra time to settle in if you wanted.

    Holy Grail

Keep it up follen! My big clown Nails likes to sleep completely upside down in his deco log too. Weirdest thing I ever saw, but also very endearing. That's a nice 4 stripe.
