Who has their Piranha on pellets?

My piranha have been eating pellets since I first got them at around 2cms. They get pellets when I don't have time to thaw something. Quick meals and for in between trips to the grocery store. They love pellets of any kind or pretty much any food. Couldn't say if it effects their growth. I would...

1 RBP tank size and will it be lonley?

Groups are definitely more interesting. But from what I read a solo piranha will live a much less stressed life. Piranha are very competitive and will not hesitate to cannibalize a shoal mate. They must constantly be on guard in a shoal and dare not fall ill for the threat of being eaten by...

    Piranhas: being bitten

I'm willing to bet all my tanks and stock that I will NEVER be bitten by any one of my P's. You guys heard it here first, so if you ever see a thread of mine that shows a piranha bite, contact me on how you can come get all my stuff.

    Most aggressive piranha

Well I would never risk adding an elongatus to my group of natts for fear that it would eventually kill them all...

    Four Month Update

Well the fx5 uses 1" diameter hosing on both input and outut so attaching 1" pvc elbow doesn't make the hole any smaller. It takes the stock output which divides the current two ways and basically combines them. Giving me more control over the flow direction as well as increasing the the...

    Four Month Update

The pvc elbows increased flow quite a bit. The piranhas are few days over four months old.

    Four Month Update

The shoal still stands at 12 and they get along famously. I changed out the outputs of my fx5's to 1" pvc elbows and did that ever change the intensity of the flow, no power head needed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAPBQXiLa5k&feature=youtu.be

My 7' Hole In The Wall

Ive found that live plants are tough in my setup due to the dim lighting. Also its hard to have nice things with the equivalent of 12 pairs of scissors ripping around the tank.

Beautiful animals. This is one of two tank setups that inspired me to try the same.

First feeding video of 20 RBP.

Three month update vid. I'm down to 12 individuals despite twice a day feedings. The shoal has stabilized now with no losses in the last three weeks. I;m considering switching to LED lighting, anyone have advice on what brand to choose? Does this video look fuzzy to anyone else? I'm using a...

First feeding video of 20 RBP.

They are in a 6x2x2 standard 180. Which should give me a few more weeks before it reaches maximum capacity. At which point I can split the shoal into two tanks to make room. They really grow alarmingly fast!

    Got my piranha setup....setup....!!!

Its a 405. I'm still playing with filter combos but I think the more the merrier with these guys. I started off with 20 and all 20 are still here which isn't very taxing on the system yet but very soon it will be. I'd also love to add more plants and a powerhead to up the current a little.
