Hi guys. I have a 150 gallon. Looking to put a male dovii in it. My lfs has this Dovii and willing to give me a good price. But I'm thinking it might be female. I know the pic is bad and probably hard to tell. But if you can take a stab at it. I appreciate it. Thanks.

its a tiger oscar. its colors and markings will change quite a bit as it matures.

defo looks like a midas/rd ... vs a flower horn. ... either way very cool fish. i am sure he will be a great fish for you and will be lots of fun as he matures. but keep him solo. ... only fish i have ever kept successfully long term is africans. and you know we don't like to mix those.

usually when i see the barred midas they are smaller than RD/midas. well atleast shorter. .... spend more time in front of the tank. the fish will get more used to you. try lowering the amount of light in the tank. even a couple of floating plants may help. ... i have even put a chair...

yep. a very hardy fish. and the price seems fair. ...pull the trigger. you will not regret it. ;)

as that midas/RD matures it will get super aggressive and try to kill anything in the tank. .... but don't get me wrong, i really like RD/midas. .. rehome the other fish and just keep him solo style. :)
