Flow rate matters too. Theoretically, a slower rate of flow could result in the BB consuming more per gallon than that of a faster rate. Understand also, as your fish get bigger, you feed them less often, so they usually will produce less waste when full grown.

I take my pumps to the hardware store... always easiest.

Build an OHF or a canister. Friends don't let friends put ugly things in their tanks... like your little basket.

You could also turn it into an over-tank filter. I have an over-sump and love it! Many people on here have Over-head filters. Very efficient and nearly failproof.

Looks to me like you could turn that thing into a Bakki Shower.

Prime has a whole lot more in it than just dechlorinater...

I have one word for you. "Sponges". Long answer - People love filter socks, and they do a great job for most applications, but I don't use them because I use sponge filters on all my filters inlets and sponges on the inside of the filters. Why you ask? Because they provide a HUGE surface area...

Carbon filters out most every chemical... even trace elements in plant food. I can't imagine that Prime would be an exception to this.

I've seen them used and they work ok. Not something I'd use if I had to buy it... but if by chance you got one for free, have at it! Just like any other filter out there, your choice of media will determine more mech or more bio.

Sounds like the sump water level will rise to me. I don't think the drip drain location will matter... as excess into the tank is going to the sump anyways.
