i kinda had the same questions i run my 405 on my 55 gal with aqua clear 50 with a 50 power head quick attach filter for water polishing it does a great job the pad get stuff as small as 1 micron an u can put carbon or what ever meadia u want in it.In my 405 i have the foam blocks with 3 trays...

i set up r u g in a 55 to try it but i used aquclear 50 power heads with them in reverse an they were not strong enough to push water up threw the gravel i think the pump has to be perty strongg

I was think of trying it on a 55 with aqua clear 50 power heads with reverse flow on undergravel. So i gess an soild waste would be suspended in the water then get sucked into what ever filter i have hob an proly fluval 405. Any one use do they work good? Any thoughts on tjis type of filter type?

I got a fluval 405 on my 55 an at full flow it blows my sand around theres a lever that u can turn it down as much as u want works nice.
