    sump size for a 300g

I use a 75 on ours and it works well. 65 should be good as long as you have room for water when the tank is shutoff. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

    Help me choose a pleco

Really depends on the permanent housing. Both the L600 and argentea will outgrow the 75 and 150. Both species at maturity are large and can be nasty. Our Argentea just outgrew a 450 gallon. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

Size tank that got you started and tank now?

What do you think of my current tank. Improvements?

Agreed on the above. I've used 75 and 100 gallon tanks for juvie Festae and they are fragile when small. Can be bullied by a lot during growout and pairing. Things change dramatically once mature and if they pair you'll need much larger housing. Our pair co-existed with a few other cichlids in...

Canister vs sump for large cichlid tank

My vote is sump all day long. Hate canister maintenance even on the easiest to maintain cans. Sump maintenance on our 4 large sump systems takes about 2 minutes a week to change socks. Occasionally I shake the bio bags and that's it. My wife will even pull them, but wouldn't think of doing...

    My new addition Argentea

Interesting. Ours was very fast growing....... only outmatched by our Pearsei. Finally had to rehome him at 16" as he outgrew and outate our 300 gallon tank. Beautiful fish but large mature males can go rouge on a moments notice. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

Seachem matrix reviews and thoughts please

I typically use pond matrix as it's easier to move around in garment bags. I give it a good shake every month or so,vacuum out the detritus and that's it. Never replaced in over a decade and water tests 0 0 20 most weeks depending on stocking. I also use Biomax, substrat pro, ceramic rings and...
