The overflow Jacunaba has is a vertical overflow not a full siphon. It will restart when the electricity comes back on and stop when it goes off. It does suck air into the system from the vent tube in the back preventing it from being a full siphon. And if you plug the back vent tube it will...

I am running dual 1 1/2" overflows and shorter in length like yous on my 220 G tank. They both T into 2" going to the sump. I put a 1 gallon bucket in front of the outlet and did a seconds count to see how much... It came out around 900 GPH. It's hard to tell exactly how much yours will flow...

Even though you lowered the pipes to quiet down the noise which is good. Once the socks start to clog they will fill up with water thus lowering the water in your sump. Looks like your running a 7 inch sock like I am and when my filter clogs I start to see the pump blowing air bubbles and...

This is how it should be set up.... Once you suck the air out of the U piece it should be the same level as the tank....

Take out the pump and U piece.... And hang the box on the back of the tank... Place the pump so it drains into the tank..... Hang the U piece in the tank and the other end in the box.. Suck the air out and take a picture so we can see.... :)

The box is designed to hang on the back of the fish tank not in the fish tank

You don't have enough U tubes .. The one you are using isn't enough to keep up with the pump.. You need more U pieces... And you have to suck the air out of the Tube with a small air hose to start the siphon...The box should hang on the outside of the tank...

Looks to me like the water comes in on the center chamber with a drip plate...Does one of the plates have a lot of holes in it? I think he ran two external return pumps seeing the two bulkheads in the sides or one of those bulkheads ran to another filter... The ledge on the right was probably...

This model is called the Super King... Supreme Aqua King made by Danner... The Super King had the rectangular outlet and was the largers one they made. The smaller units had round outlet tubes like the pic I posted.... Yours should push around 900gph

Here is a pic i found of one... You hang a U piece tube in the tank and start a siphon as the pump pushes the water out the U tube siphons water into the filter....
