Yea, I have also experienced different growth rates in my clown loaches. I have put it down to the more dominant ones eating more food, and genetically being faster growers.

Ouch that sucks. And yea for transporting any (non small tetra) I always do my best to use seperate containers as I find that they are a lot less happy at the other end otherwise.

I think they will be captive breed, just grown out in a tank, not a pond.
