I was actualy thinking about that I want to let the plants get established a little first. and I never have problems with the clay drying out I use a all glass lid which keeps humidity in then all you have to do is mist the clay lightly once or twice a day and it will never dry out:)

The clay background only needs to be misted once or twice a day very lightly so your only adding a tablespoon of water for you freshwater plants and its not gonna effect you brackish water. also for vines those need to planted in the substrate so a small patch of eco earth will do or abg mix. I...

you dont even need to buy a tank just get like a sterolite tub put paper towels or turf on the bottom add a heat pad and a hut to the place and a water dish and your set costs like 30$ dont use sand its just like asking use to eat rocks
