    Whats your Arowanas Attitude?

the silvers i've raised before are pretty skittish, i left a lamp type light on next to them 24/7 and the light seem to help them calm down. they're more shy and jumpy when they're little but when they get bigger, any fish that can fit in their mouths become snacks. i have a 4 in jardini now, he...

    Keeping crayfish

the crawfish always have a hard time catching minnows because they were fast swimmers so every night i'd catch one and rubber band it onto a small stone for the crawfish to eat. but yes, important points are the shells-leave it alone so they can eat it or their shell may not fully harden and...

    Crayfish for a peaceful community?

i've read that they eat their molted shells to regain the calcium to harden the new shell they have on. IME when my crayfish didn't eat their shells they tended to stay soft... if that makes sense. i use tap water in all my tanks and the pH tends to run on the high side so it's not like the...

    House Fire vs. Fish Tanks!

one would also think that with a large ship sailing the seas, fire would not be a problem because there is no shortage of water, however fire remains to be one of the biggest hazards to ships. lol love the thought, i wish i could have a 10k gallon tank...

    Picky eaters

my aros only like hikari jumbo carni-sticks... i get snubbed when i try to feed prawn or smelt unless they're real hungry. i'm in the process of training them on different pellets and different foods. they're about 18 inches long now.
