No. However, it can cause allergies on some folks and high protein may cause some fish to bloat or float.
funny u say that cause i have to oscars and one does sometimes float about after eating them. should i just keep them on pellets? (hikari cichlid gold)

The oscar could be sensitive to high protein. That's kinda the opposite of what they are supposed to be. Anything low in protein will be better for him.
