The Pacific Coast Cichlid Association is proud to announce one of our member of Board of Director, Mr. Doug Habersaat, as our speaker on March 14, 2009
Mr. Habersaat has been keeping pets of some kind or other since he was in grade school, mostly reptiles and amphibians.
Around 1990, he got interested in fish when a friend of his showed him her fish tank and described to him the unique personalities of each individual fish. In 1991, after visiting a local pet fair, he decided to join the PCCA and BAKA in order to learn more about fish. A few years later, Mr. Habersaat became a Historian and a Sales Committee Chair of the PCCA. Also, he is currently member of the PCCA board of directors.
In BAKA (Bay Area Killifish Association), he became a member of the conservation committee, now known as DSAC (Desert Springs Action Committee). At least twice a year the DSAC travels to a remote location to help preserve endangered species of native fish. He is presently the Vice President of BAKA.
