½ melanistic gar perhaps?

Sold as alligator gar but they looked like juvenile florida too me at my lfs. All of the others were a lot more silvery in color but this one were really dark. Is this common? Never seen it before.

It's a normal florida gar, not a melanistic one.

yup, regular looking florida. Darker pattern varies on these guys.
