Back in May 2013, I picked up a bag of 6 X 1" bellycrawlers at the gcca cichlid classic

over the next few months the largest, a 1"+ female ate all her brothers and sisters in a 125 tank.
Didn't realize this at first because they are very secretive, and were easily lost in the rocks and wood, until I saw her with half a pike down her gullet.

Luckily (or unluckily depending how you look at it) another of our club members had bought another bag at the same auction, and had 1 male left, due to the same cannibalistic scenerio.
he give it to me and I grew it out in a separate tank back in June 2014

Once it reached a comparable size, I added them both to a 150 gal S American community where they both seem to have worked a detante sort of, survival strategy.
They are now both about the length and girth of of bratwursts
male

female

they share the tank with half dozen Guianacara, and 4 xCichlasoma ornatum
