1/2 barrel pond with clams?!?!? wtf!!

I recently moved some big pots with water in them and I noticed that there were all kinds of weird stuff living in there including what appeared to be little clams. The water in the barrels have all manner of aquatic plants in them so I guess they clams came from there.

But really, fresh water clams? is that what they are or are they some other little swamp bug.

They could be freshwater clams (yes, they exist). A picture would help to identify them though.

I'll try to get a pic the next time I'm over at my 'rents house. Those buckets are freaky though, there is all manner of creepy crawlies in there. I get the runs just looking at the water let alone sticking my hand in to fish out wayward bivalves.

ya if the plants came from the wild they might have small clams in the roots and dirt.then they will grow and move.
you might also find a few kinds of snails and even some ghost shrimp.
