1/2" tempered glass

I have a 8' long plywood tank that is 4' wide and 32" tall. I have non tempered 1/2" glass working fine

You can get a 3.5 safety factor at 24 inches deep with 1/2" plate glass. I have no idea how much deeper you can with 1/2" tempered although there's every reason to think it should be much deeper than plate.

So few people use it, that I've not seen any real measurements. However, if it's 'used' tempered glass and was used for other things, you might want to be more conservative.

I used 1/2 tempered for 8x3x3. It lasted until I took the tank down when I moved. I still have the glass sitting in my garage if you want it. My next will only be 29.75 tall so it can fit through the door.
