I just wanted to say that it looks like mine has some shiny dots on each of its little scales, does this mean it will have these when it grows up too?

and do flowerhorns fade out when they get real big?

The little shiny dots are called pearls and yes, it should have them when it gets bigger... I've seen some huge FHs and I don't think that they were faded out at all, they were still beautiful fish...

hey you think its hard to get some nice flower horns in USA?

L0L its hard to get anything called a FH in the UK LMAO

i had the same thing happen with my drift wood
it does go away after 3 or 4 water changes
i've talked to a few people about it and i have been assured its absolutely harmless to the fish

alright thanks.

I took a huge piece out (driftwood) and have done about4 waterchanges including one yesterday and I have added a sock of extra activated carbon and its still tea.

It seems like it likes it though, and if it is harmless I dont mind either.

yeah right, gives the tank that cool amazon blackwater effect
