Thinking of splitting my carbon drip system to 2 tanks ....1 that does about 100 gpd and 1 that does 40 gpd ......each tank has an overflow hole drilled ...who has experience doing this?.....I can't think of any problems I might come across...I would just have to replace the filters sooner then if I had 2 diff carbon drip units...

I use a plastic "regulator" inline on mine. I think it uses pressure on the line to equate to 60 GPD. Problem is, if you just split the line with a T, and put a 40 GPD on one line, and a 60 GPD on teh other line......

You'd end up with water flowing through the 60 GPD and not the 40GPD line--water would always take the path of least resistance?

I'm not sure about all this, I'd have to think about it, or test it out....

Know what I mean?

I see what u are saying but if the preasure of water is greater then both lines wouldn't water run thru both?.....isnt that the point of the regulators? ....to restrict how much water can be dripped?

I did it with no problems. Just bought an 80 gpd kit from the Filter Guys and used a 60 gpd regulator on the big tank and a 25 gpd emitter on the smaller tank that I wanted less flow. I just T'd it after the carbon filters. The regulators or emitters will provide enough back pressure or resistance to get you the amounts you want.

im not sure if this is how you have it set up but i would think it would work if say you have your water going into the carbon filter first, then splitting it from there with a T. one side would go to one tank and the other to the second tank... then put a drip emitter on both to get the desired GPD for each

jan - beat me to it,,, i type too slow

Worked fine for me just using a Y and running each line to the other tanks. I think I was doing three different setups. Without pressure regulators, balancing the flow can get tricky.
