I'm upgrading from my 55 gallon tank and getting a somewhat bigger home for my flowerhorn; a 75 gallon tank. It's just him in the tank all by himself and my question was..., should I get another filter for the 75 gallon besides what I already have? > (CFS 500, it does 500 gph)

I was thinking about getting an ac110 just to be on the safe side since its 20 more gallons for my CFS 500 to handle...

- What do yall recommend? Like I mentioned, its just him in the tank and he's a solid 8" and getting bigger lol.

ur filter allready does more then 5x the water amount per hour this is sufficient especially with only 1 fish if u ask me

I think the filter you have is good. Same fish same waste and only 20 more gal

the cfs works really well and is plenty. if you have funds, an ac110 with double sponge on top of that would be awsome. then you can just load the canister with pure bio media.

+1 agreed. You might be fine without, but more filtration is always cleaner water and happier fish. No reason not to.

Another filter would be great but if your on a budget I would just get a powerhead to get more circulation and the fh will like swimming in front of it..that's what mine like doing

you are fine with what you have but if you want more mech. filtration, a big hob (I like aqueon ,because of price)would work

Thanks for the replies guys!
I think in the long run after I get him in and settled I might invest in an aquaclear 55/75 or the AC110. But for now I'll just keep with what I have.
Thanks again! I'll eventually make a progression thread of the 75 gallon tank and stand as me and my dad are building it and putting everything together.

Now if I happen to get a 90 gallon and still only have my 1 flowerhorn then I'd more than likely upgrade to an AC110 or an aquaclear 55/75.
Im sure that would be enough, wouldn't it?
