Names Thomas and yup I'm a newbie to the site and a new bass owner. I have wanted bass for awhile now and finally found some on ebay. I purchased 4 2-3" bass and for a temp tank I bought a new 10gal untill I can set up my 150gal.

Fish showed up one was dead from transport. The 3 left got put in there 10gal and it was awesome. Well 2 days went by with me feeding them frozen blood worms and I got a little to excited from watching bass eating mice on you tube so I bought 5 red rossie's or what ever there are called and 2 of the 3 bass ate them and it was awesome. At the same time I thought I might be seeing the start of ICH so I drop an ICH tab in the tank.

Next day 2 of the bass were floating (DEAD). So now I have one left. I called the guy I bought them from and he said for sure the rossie's choked them to death as they are to small for these.

I ordered 3 more bass today while at work and when I got home my one fish is covered from head to toe with ICH. So I read some threads and uped the temp 10 degrees added a tbl spoon of salt and another Ich tab.

Now I am worrie the new bass will show up before the ICH is GONE...

I love these fish but d*mn, since I got them its been a nightmare. I will continue to get these bumps squared away and one day have nice fully grown bass.

Well thats my story and I feel better after talking about it. LOL

Thanks Fish Keepers!:nilly:

hurry up and get the 150 cycled and throw the little guys in there, theyll shoot up fast in a tank that size.

Well looks like you learned that petstore feeders are a bad idea. Next lesson to learn is a 150 is way to small for 1 bass let alone more.

small pbass need 86-87 degree water or they get ich easily...bump up your temp, add salt....in a 10g, idd add 5 tsp.

haven't you heard of choking hazards?? and dude srry to hear about the lose.

i may have missed something in your post, but have you checked you water quality in the tank? 3 fish in a new tank uncycled, combine that with excited feeding of a newbie= ammonia problem to my eyes.

whats your ammonia?
whats your nitrite?

I second ammonia poisoning. And when you said you had a temporary tank, I thought the 150 was temporary. Being a newbie isn't an excuse to not know how HUGE those fish will be. I'm a n00b! I'm not about to stuff a pbass in my 75 gallon!
