i was just wondering if connecting 2 different tank into 1 large sump would be a good idea? Is this just a stupid idea cause it would transfer diesease and the like. the 2 tanks are a 125 gallon and a 200 gallon. Thanks

It is easy to do. You need 2 pumps and you NEED to QT before new additions.

im gad you asked... i want to do it with my reef tanks to stabilize my temp and salinity. its a better idea with smaller SW tanks to keep dissolved nutrients down

wait so you basically saying that it would work?, but i should quarantine any fish beforehand and keep the water clean right? just making sure. Thanks

Why would you need two pumps?

I guess you don't KNEED two, it can be done with ball valves, I just prefer to have one pump per tank.

I run 8 tanks off of one sump. I save a lot of space on filtration.

its a good idea. it simplifies fish keeping.
