Just curious if anybody has any input on running two tanks off of one sump. I have 2 150’s that I want to do this with. One has built in overflows and the other one does not. I was originally planning on using a 40 gallon for a sump with the single 150 but what size would I need now? I bought a Mag Drive 24 pump to power whatever size sump it is. I was just curious if anybody could save me some time on how to go about making sure the flows are equal between both tanks on the return and output sides. Also I am planning on making this an automatic drip system to eliminate water changes. Can I do this like Rallysman and have the waste go out of the sump? I haven’t really given this much technical thought yet but it seems like the flows would have to be about perfect for this to be done like that. I plan on figuring it all out by next week, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Fish system at work >1750 gallons, >150 tanks, 1 sump, 2 pumps

Yes, I would say it is possible

think so too. you might get that one tank gets filled a bit faster cuz of pump differences (even in the same models) but as you have a overflow it shudnt matter.

From your sump all you would have to do is split your return line from the pump, making one go into one tank and the other line in the other tank. I wouldnt use two pumps, just have a pump big enough to move the amount of water that is needed. That is the simpliest way I can think of. As far as your drip system all you would have to do to your sump is either drill it or get an overflow box on it.
