Here are some pics of my Synspillum taken from my iphone. Is it male or female? Had it about 3" in size 6 mos. ago and have not given it much thought. I think it's a female tho. If you need more visuals, I have a youtube video in my signature below of my Syns. in with my other CA's & Festaes. It's one of my faves in my collection.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I just placed her in my 195gal about a month and 1/2 ago. Built this set up on a 42" tall DIY stand for better viewing. Syns and company seems happy and so am I with the results. Here is the embedded video: Thanks!

@Vancouver_98683, here are a couple of my male 'synspilum' (about 2 years of age) going at it for comparison, They are about 11-12".

If your 'synspilum' is a female, she is a real beast in terms of size. My females are more like 7-8" max. Might be a "late blooming" male.

BTW, is your avatar pic a 'hartwegi'?. Looks just like my female.

Awesome male duo! Ya, one of the reasons I also think my syns is female due to demeaner. No issues with any of the CA's, Aro, or Datnoids I have in my other tank. If it is a she, she is certainly a thickie. She may be slightly longer than 11" or at least 10.5" minimum.

As for the Hartwegi, yes it is. I figured it is a female. Is it the bottom front dark undertone that gives it away? I've seen other female Harts and it seems to be a consensus. My Harwegi (6" Female) is semi-territorial. I attached a pic I took last night.
