Quick Question: what would be the eastest and quickest type of fish i can breed as feeders for my larger fish, i have a 10 gal tank for this purpose

i would say 1 pare of small convicts, or 2 male guppies and 6 females. heavily planted for the guppies lots hid caves for the convicts. and over filter the tank.

Just watch what you use for filtration. Most of the filters today will suck up the fry into the impeller. Get a sponge filter or a corner filter with floss. Down here feeders are 13 cents each so I doubt I'd even bother doing it myself. Other than to just do it.

Are you raising feeders for occasional treats, or as the sole diet for your larger fish? If the latter, then you'll need a much bigger tank or multiple tanks to produce enough feeders for even one large predator.

no no no DONT do convicts, to small a tank, same with swordtails, to small a tank. guppys woould be your best bet, male convicts can grow to excede 5 to 6 inches female 3 to 4 inches, swordtails can grow to be 4 inches ( excludeing the sword part on males ) with the sword then about 5 inches for male swordtails, so guppys are your best bet.

2 males 8 females and watch the baby population BLOOM

rosy red minnows or fathead minnows take longer to breed than livebarers, but their broods will produce more young, if the weather is greater than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, you can just take like a big rubbermaid tub, throw like 15 sections of 1.5 inch pvc pipe for them to spawn in, and add like 20-30 rosy reds and you'll have more then you can handle in no time.
