Hi Everyone, its been a while!

Anyways, I just set up a 10 gallon tank, but it is stressing me out a little bit.

I bought this stand: http://www.petco.com/product/119923/Petco-Brooklyn-Metal-Tank-Stand.aspx

After building it, I've noticed that the tank isn't sitting on the two bars that connect the side pieces at all. Also, it instructed me to place 4 small pads on each corner of the stand, which slightly elevates the tank off the two side pieces as well.

I am worried that having the four corners support all the weight is a bad thing, but then again it is only a 10 gallon tank.

Any advice or calming of my fears would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, not sure if the link was right, it showed me a stand for a much larger tank...
I have seen tanks in fish stores, 50 and 60 gallon tanks mind you, resting on nothing more then cinder blocks on each end, with nothing in the middle at all. And this was the setup in this store for 20years.
Having said that, 10 gallons of water weighs roughly 84 lbs and the tank and decor will add to that, so error on the side of caution. My suggestion would be to cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to fit exactly under the tank. Paint it black and rest assured. The wood will distibute the weight evenly....or, have a piece cut to cover the entire top of the stand...paint it black and again, rest assured.
Just my opinion...good luck.
