It completly depends on what type of species you have as the smallest are just 5 centimetres (2.0 in) in adult length, while the largest reach up to 1.5 metres (4.9 ft) but in an average tank they will only grow to about 25-30cm so a 10 gallon tank is a bit cramped it will live in one but it will never reach its full size unless you move it to a bigger tank at a later date sorry.Hope this helped best of luck
