So I had a 10 g Lying around and I was gonna set up fresh water and seed it from my other tanks ( which are all freshwater) but I always do fresh so then I wanted to do salt but I was told 10 g is too small and wouldn't be worth the effort so I was wondering if I can set up a brackish tank because I saw this Knight Goby and other fish (brackish) at my lfs but they need brackish so ya was just wondering and can u guys tell me equipment and what fish I can keep and also can I seed the brackish with existing mature freshwater bacteria and can I use a API freshwater master test kit for brackish thanks in advance 😊 exited to see what I get and I came here cuz I know you guys are pro lol

cool, i got a small brackish tank myself, my first suggestion is use a larger filter than normal, especialy with a 10 gallon, use some 2-3 times the tank size, yes you can seed the brackish tank with freshwater bacteria, it just takes longer, as for the test strips, what Specific Gravity are you going to use? the knight goby will be ok in there, also bumble bee gobys, smaller mollys, chromids, fiddler crabs, figure 8 puffer, be sure to do reasurch and lots of it before getting anything. the equipment is pretty much the same for low salinity tanks as it is for fresh water, invest in a hydrometer though, itll help with keeping the water right, good luck

I would absolutely go with a bumblebee goby tank if you want to keep the SG lower. Maybe add a school of celebes rainbows too.
