i was at my buddys garage sale and he had a 10gallon with everything i wanna fill it with some small native fish anyone know good fish to put in?

Any of the elassoma, heterandria formosa,Leptolucania ommata, Lucania Goodei, any of these fish would do well in a ten.

small bullhead, sunfish species, black crappie, yellow perch...then upgrade! hahaa but seriously for life id go with some darters, or dace species. go to your local streams with a dipnet and see what you come up with, then identify and ask back here to see if they would do well in that size tank. nothing with a max size 4" or larger unless you plan on upgrading.

definitely go with a baby bass. you will probly only be able to keep him in there for 6 months or so depending on how small it is when you first get it, but they are very exciting to watch. especially when its feeding time

If your going to get something to permanently live in the 10 gallon then I suggest a single Orangespot sunfish. Very beautiful fish with loads of personality.
