So I have a 10 gallon that I am wanting to use as a grow out for a few festae fry. I want to have a much larger grow out eventually, but do not currently have the space for the other tank. I attempted at putting about 20 fry in the tank about a week or 2 after they became free swimming. I grinded up some pellets and fed them a few times daily, but they slowly started dying. Now there is only one left, and the adult pair already has more fry wiggling around in a pot. I had the temp at about 80 degrees in the grow out and very basic filtration. Does anyone have any suggestions to get more fry to survive for this next attempt? Thanks!

I'd start the fry with paramecia, infusoria, or if they are large enough, baby brine shrimp. What's the pH? Did you do plenty of water changes?

I did a water change about every week. I can do more than that this time around, but I didn't have enough time to do it more frequently the first time. the PH was right around 7.2. How often should I do water changes this time? maybe every 2-3 days?
