wondering how often i should be cycling this water with these 3 fish in only 10 gallons, also how often i should be testing nitrate levels...for the time being these fish seem to prefer dried blood worms and tropical fish flakes to consume, as opposed to the few guppies i've dropped in....the first two of which they just killed and left to rot so i had to remove them...any information would be much appreciated as i am quite newb :)
thanks!!

You are gonna need a way bigger tank once those things start growing, even though they are only a half inch now, 10 gallons is way to small

Change your water at least one time a day. test your water levels a few times a day in that tank. Not alot of room for a bunch of things to go wrong. Keep feeding the flakes and bloodworms, but try to feed them pcs of whiite fish, krill, cichlid sticks/pellets,shrimp, and earth worms. IMO you should not feed the guppies now.

i had mine in a ten gallon 4 about 3 months then i got a 46 gallon bow front now just yesterday i finaly got a 120 gallon tank with what u have in the 10 gallon change the water once a week i would get a undergravel filter 4 it an a small power head and start saving 4 a bigger tank i would stick with the blood worms and maybe tri some flake food

in that small a tank my best advice would be daily water changes and remembering to take out any uneaten food daily. start saving up for a new tank.... you'll be craving for a bigger one once your babies grow.

I see alot of peeps saying once a day. I don't think thats neccessary IMO. Check the params daily but I think you'll be fine with weekly changes.

yea just once a week.. they are only 1/2 of an inch i dont see why you would need it everyday...

but you should really get a larger tank in a few weeks.. they are gonna grow way too fast to keep in a 10 for much longer.. a 55 should be pretty good for a while :D

I think this is not practical.

Keep an eye on nitrates and change water when they exceed 40-50 mg/L. Most importantly, make sure you have good biofiltration and keep an eye on nitrites and ammonia.

heu...once! once it is cycled, you don't do it again.

as all above, check it daily, change when necessary.

HOPE you didn't think they would fit in a 10 gal for so long...if so, another sad case of someone buying and asking questions after...:irked:
