Hello all, I’m in need of some help.

Soon ill be starting a 10 gallon nano reef tank and I want to get the right equipment the first time.

In the tank I plan to have nano safe fish or two. Not sure what species yet though.

Ill also be getting 20lbs of live rock as well.

As for corals and inverts the only things I really plan to have, or would live to have anyway would be any of the following ; Star Polyp, Zoanthids, Ricordia, Hammer Coral and maybe Mushrooms. Since I haven’t really looked into the size of some of these I’m not sure how well they’d work. So any suggestions there would be helpful.

Also I need to know how many watts work of light Ill need. Ill be using PC lighting.

I plan to do weekly water changes on this tank. Most likely about 2 gallons a week. Doing this will I need a protein skimmer? If so which is best for a 10 gallon.

Finally, what (if any) chemical additives will I need to add to the water for the corals and inverts?

If you can keep this simple id appreciate it immensely since I don’t need complications which seems to be all you find in most online help sites.

Thanks for any and all help.

I have just setup a little nano, 7 Uk gallons...i have 2 x 36w 50/50...Its morte than ample to keep low light softies..

I would not bother with putting a skimmer on there, its not needed i dont think on a tank that size.

If you use a good salt, there should be no need to be adding additives to the system..If anything, it would only be calcium.

Any more questions, just hola up mate..

Niko

I use a Backpac on my 15g & use Aquaclear as a small HOB fuge. Still having nitrate problems & wind up doing huge water changes on it every 1-2 weeks.
