10 Gallon Saltwater Setup TAKE 2

Well since I got new fish and had some snails and hermits die, I decided to start fresh with a whole new thread.

MOST RECENT STOCK LIST:
Royal Gramma (Gramma Loreto)
Red Scooter Blenny (Synchiropus Stellatus)
Scarlet Hermit Crab (Paguristes Cadenati)
Astrea Snail (Astraea Tecta) [x2]

Got hit with the slime algae again and since I lost a couple snails and hermits, I picked up 3 more Astrea Snails. That brings me to 5 Astrea's. They seem to be the only Snails I can keep alive..

Love it! This is exactly the sort of little saltwater tank my wife wants to start.

it's a nice little setup. there's not much room for error in a salt tank this size, but it's a nice change from all my freshwater tanks. you're extremely limited to what you can stock in a tank this size as well. Good thing is that it's not a money pit like bigger salt tanks lol I didn't need a skimmer or anything fancy either just a 150gph HOB filter. As long as you keep up on water quality then you shouldn't need a skimmer for something small like this.

SLIME ALGAE TAKEOVER! My tank is covered in red and green slime algae. I had to go get more Astrea Snails and a couple Mexican Turbo Grazer Snails to clean it up which brings me to 8 Astrea's and 2 Turbos. If I still have this problem then I may look for some kind of Phosphate filter to cut down its food supply.
