Well i have a 10 gallon tank right next to me empty, and i decided to go on one of two paths here. either:

A. Brackish setup for 1 Figure 8 puffer.

B. Nano reef. would get myself a nice set of lights and set it up as a nano reef with one or two small fish.

either way i'm moving towards the dark side a little with salt!!!!!!

the Figure 8 would be easier (cheaper too) and i've heard puffers have amazing personality, but the reef would probably look nicer

hmmm i was really liking the idea, add in 2 clownfish (i know everybody with a sw tank has one) and a fire dartfish.

you also can't tell me that doesn't look pretty damn cool

but looking into it, a nano reef isn't nano on the pocket......

i guess i'll check out puffers

well after checking the prices of getting a nice nano reef, it looks like i'm going to get me an awesome puffer!!!! (lol)

the figure8 puffer get to 3" and like slightly brackish water.

ALWAYS saltwater salt for brackish. brackish is just ocean water meeting up with freshwater......it has the same salt and minerals as saltwater does, its just not quite as concentrated.

thats what i figured. i have also been thinking about a figure 8 puffer but i always thought it would be too complicated to set up a brackish tank.

not all that complicated, just mix the water and test specific gravity and everything else is just the same....

i think i might actually get a pico reef, like a 2.5 gallon reef tank. that should cut costs quite a bit and with that small of a tank i won't need a skimmer so all thats needed is a filter big enough to make a small refuge in (which i already have) and light which i will have 18w of pc over it.
