I have a pretty mild mannered jaguar cichlid in my 90 and I think I'm going to get a 10" fire eel to accompany her. Normally I would be against it, but my jag, like I mentioned, is pretty chill. I am also considering adding a florida gar thats about 10". I realize the tank will need to be upgraded soonish which will happen so don't worry about that. Thoughts?

soonish?....i would be upgrading b 4 any additions.

^^ what he said. That tank is honestly not even bare minimum for what Id consider for a single jag, let alone a 10" eel and a 10" gar.

A 10" Jag living on his own?! You may have trouble introducing anything to the tank, upgrade or not!

the jag might not accept any new tankmates, and the eel is a much more passive fish, which doesn't help at all. I'd keep in separate tanks.

he is living with a small pleco atm and they get along fine... in any case it seems as though people are generally against it lol. I plan on trying to sell my jag again for cheap (last time I tried no-one wanted her). Thanks for the advice all.

I say keep the jag. And let him live in there alone.
