Hey all,
just thinking over something. There is a possibility that I am going to have a new tank constructed and wanted to know something about the needed glass strength for monsters....
The tank I am looking for will normally be made out of 10 mm glass, but I am thinking to change this to 12 mm to reduce the risk of breaking, since I want to keep some big fish in there, for example my datnioid (12"), panaque (15") and in another tank of the same dimentions, congicus bichirs, maybe an arowana (asian) and a AUL.
So, do you guys think I need the extra thick glass for these fish? I heard tales of big fish breaking tanks, but this isn't a common thing to happen, so is it worth the extra money and weight involved?
The tank where talking about is 5x2x2 in a double set-up (two above each other).
Thanks for your time.
Koen
