I currently have a 10g with a red belly pacu and a red oscar and I was wanting to plant it, I am fully aware of how big these fish get so don't even discuss that. But I've never had a planted tank, My 55g has fake plants so I have no experience with it whatsoever. So you guys know any good plants for my tank? I am also going to try to put a small species of pleco in it so are there any that won't eat the plants? I want it to look bright because my 55g is kinda gloomy and I want this one to look good, Any info on this will be appreciated.

As you've stated you know it's too small for them i wont worry about that part...I've found that my O's don't really let me have anything in their tank, they'll dig up my fake plants and just generally make a mess, Never had pacus but i think they may be similar in that aspect, i'm sure someone else can chime in on that one. As for easy plants Java moss grows like mad and is great for attaching to rocks or driftwood, i just lay it on wrap it with some fishing line and throw it in, in a day or so it wont look funny anymore. Java fern is easy too but my other tank has turtles and they eat the heck out of it,they ignore the java moss though. Other than those there are plenty of other low light plants that should be fairly easy to deal with...The only other point i'd like to make is if your tank has incandescent lights and not flouros, switch out for some of them, either tubes or low wattage CFLs will be fine and will grow plants like mad.
